Energy and Climate Policy: Will the World Act on Climate Fast Enough?
December 12, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm PSTFree
Two years ago nations came together for an inspiring, although long overdue global agreement for climate action. Now the Trump administration’s climate deniers control EPA. Stronger action by State governments may give hope for enactment of critical energy and climate policy. Learn about policy strategies for meeting world energy needs without climate-changing fossil fuels. What can Washington State do? What can we each do?
Cascadia Climate Action is pleased to present this panel panel of experts featuring Reed Schuler, J.D., an Obama administration negotiator at the Paris Climate Summit in 2015 and currently a senior climate policy advisor to Governor Inslee who recently served as a delegate to the UN COP23 in Bonn, Germany, as well as Nick Touran on meeting global energy needs and LuAnne Thompson on what climate science indicates may be expected from different policies on addressing greenhouse gases.
The Lagunitas Brewing Company will generously be donating proceeds from all beer sales during the event to support the climate outreach work of Cascadia Climate Action.* Also on hand will be the Cycle Dogs food truck with their tasty menu for all to enjoy. Join in learning about energy and climate policy, while enjoying a refreshing beer and dinner with friends! Bring your questions and join the discussion.
All ages are welcome! Doors open at 6:00 pm with a climate trivia game at 6:30 pm. Panel begins at 7:00 with time for audience questions and discussion at 8:00 pm.
