Pacific NW Up in Smoke? Wildfires, Forests, & Climate Change
Tired of smoke and worried about wildfires? Our panel of experts provided insightful presentations and thoughtful discussion around the relationship between climate change, forests and wildfires, and the increasing impacts on forest ecosystems and human health. They also delved into the consequences of forest policy and solutions for the future, including what you can do to help! King 5 News was there to cover it (see below). A video of the presentation will be available soon, here, or on the Climate Science on Tap YouTube channel. Check out the five CSonTap events there now. It is worth subscribing to get notified of new videos as they become available.
This was another in the fun and informative event in the Climate Science on Tap series organized by Cascadia Climate Action in collaboration with the UW Program on the Environment. Expert scientists presenting included Brian Harvey, PhD, UW School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, Nives Dolsak, PhD, School of Marine and Environmental Affairs, and Heidi Roop, PhD, UW Climate Impacts Group.
