The Schooner Series of Climate Science on Tap events are somewhat smaller events done in collaboration with the graduate students with the University of Washington’s Program on Climate Change. Like the Climate Science on Tap events the Schooners are intended to bring expert science and climate action opportunities out into the community at the friendly and fun neighborhood brewpubs. Enjoy the camaraderie and make friends around the tables while learning and engaging on this important topic!

• Sam Shugart speaking on Climate Risk & Scenario Modeling. This talk aims to introduce how climate risk scenarios are currently being developed and applied, discuss challenges, and highlight the potential of developing a shared understanding of risk to drive change.
• Annalise Stein presenting on the Path to Decarbonization: Washington State’s Transition to 100% Renewable Energy: The implementation of the Clean Energy Transition Act (CETA) in 2019.
• Christine Nolan speaking on: Restoring our ocean’s secret weapon; a deeper view into seagrass restoration and population resilience. 

Past Schooner Events:

The premier Schooner event with panelists discussing global warming in the context of the recent snow events, “But Where is All the Global Warming?” took place at the Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, 8645 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA on March 14, 2019. A huge success with an enthusiastic audience!

The second of the quarterly Schooner series took place on May 16, 2019 in the beer garden at Peddlers Brewing Company, 1514 NW Leary Way, Seattle, WA with three UW Program on Climate Change graduate students providing their expertise, research, and perspectives on the Scales of Climate Change.
